3D Printing & You

Let us tell you what its all about

Why Choose 3D Printing?

Design Flexibility

Imagine a manufacturing method that lets you iterate your product on the fly with at most days of downtime. Now imagine you can do this with complex shapes, textures, materials and more. That is the level of flexibility AM has to offer.

Cost Saving

Getting your products through AM has many cost saving advantages. The major impact can be seen in low volume production where the start up cost is significantly lower than technology such as injection molding.

Lead times

When it comes to lead time, AM is ideal for large or medium size batches of products. Often the time difference compared to conventional manufacturing is in the weeks rather than the months.

Scalability

In the last 5-10 years additive manufacturing has taken massive leaps forward. With even desktop machines delivering large high quality parts at record speeds, scaling up your manufacturing to be AM based has never been more viable.

Why Work With Eudico?

At Eudico, we believe every engineering / manufacturing team should be supported with additive manufacturing, but getting inhouse manufacturing can be costly in time and experience.

By working with Eudico you:

  • Work with experienced additive manufacturing professionals

  • Benefit from years of experience in design for additive manufacturing

  • Save on weeks of staff training and thousands in material and equipment purchases

Find Inspiration

What Is 3D Printing?

Impeller render_edited.jpg

Lets walk through an example. Say you want to make this impeller (shown to the left) but want to save costs and avoid expensive machining or injection molding. How would our process look for your impeller?

Step 1: The Model

In this case you already have your model complete! All it needs is to be provided in a slicer friendly format such as STL.
Excellent, step one done. However, if you need design services, Eudico is able to help too.

Step 2: Slicing

Slicing is the step in the process where a file is converted to a printable format by cutting it up into multiple layers.
Much like CNC machining the model is transformed into machine friendly instructions.
Depending on the material, surface quality, dimensional accuracy and size of the part, this is done for either SLA (resin) printing or FDM (filament) printing.

Step 3: Manufacturing

Whether by FDM or SLA your part is made to your specifications with a wide array of material choices and with little to no upfront tooling costs. (FDM shown left)

Step 4: Finishing

Lastly we remove supports and any excess material that may have been necessary during the printing process.
In the case of SLA parts, these are also given time to cure in UV filled containers locking in the parts final form. (SLA shown left)

With the finishing step complete the part is ready to ship!
